Lyla's my pen name because I love lilacs (the flowers). I write my stories with my friend who's my editor. What I post is really just writing exercises we do for fun so don't expect anything incredible. We hang out and I tell him the story I have in mind and how I want it. We spend the night awake writing and drinking lots of coffee and hope that by morning, we have a cool story. All my stories share a common theme: they explore the dichotomy of being a strong woman who enjoys being submissive, BDSM, degradation, humiliation etc. In my opinion, ignoring the fact that we're living in a sexist and patriarchal society while writing female sexual submission is hypocritical. There's an intrinsic moral tension to being a sexually submissive female, and also a feminist. All my stories explore this tension, either in the subtext or overtly. With many of my stories, I like to deliberately add elements of sexism to the BDSM to explore the dichotomy. Is it OK to be sexually submissive in a patriarchal society? Is it wrong? I don't have all the answers, but my stories want to explore these questions. Hope you have as much fun reading as we have writing these :D
