The Empire's mainstay is the Ground Service, the first military branch formally organized when the Empire was founded. Most soldiers wear garrison caps, but armor units wear a black beret. Flag officers are currently the only ones to wear peaked caps. When the neckerchief requirement was abolished, plain caps were approved for all the services, and their sun visors proved popular.
