This week, Iron Maiden (!) is clearly winning the way, garnering 18 votes out of 33 voters so far. If we only had 33 voters next week, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, and Yes would all have more than 18. S & G would be very close, though the "lighter rock" groups have not fared well so far. Motley Crue could also be close. In terms of "influential groups", Run DMC is wayyyyy up there, but will get fuck-all for votes here.


Sorry to be argumentative, but I wanted to bump the thread to hopefully get more voters, and really didn't feel like discussing the artistic contributions of the Elfman Brothers, or William Shatner.

#1 - Is there a "group of death" here? A round so full of heavyweights that almost certainly an awesome band will get bumped out of the competition?

Round #5 with Bowie, The Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, Chicago & Zappa looks tough.
Round #13 with Crosby, Stills and Nash (where's Neil Young?), Elvis Costello, Pretenders, Metallica, Peter Gabriel/Genesis, Deep Purple & Peter Frampton
Round #15 with Beatles, Alice Cooper, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kiss, James Brown, Doors & The Cars

Some pretty packed rounds that will cause a lot of grief to some voters


#2 - Useless lobbying for Pink Floyd next week

If you only know Dark Side and The Wall (probably my least favorite Floyd album), you gotta at least listen to one of my all time favorite Floyd songs. For most, this should sound nothing like the Pink Floyd you'd expect
