So, I stand before you today, first apologizing for monopolizing the whole time tonight, and second to ask you how I can get past my mental block and start making love to my wife again, instead of "just having sex."
The Serenity Prayer taught me that I can't change the fact that she cheated on me, but I can change the present situation, if I can just figure out how, and then have the courage to make it happen. The courage to become vulnerable again.

chasbo3817 days agoHe loves her but is not in love with her any more. The marriage meets all of his personal needs except for sex. He can get sexual relief by masturbation. Unless the wife loves sex and does not use it as a means to control her husband, often masturbation can be much more pleasurable than sex. Sex is the physical aspect of love. Without love, sex is just getting your rocks off.
Imshaken4 months agoIf he truly loves his wife it seems very doubtful that he's not actually making love to her at times and just doesn't realize it? Emotions happen. Still... 5 strong stars because the author has started a legitimate conversation.

Anonymous8 months agoVulnerability raw honest. Painful confession. I really don't understand how therapeutic confession is, especially when the follow up is supposed to lead toward acceptance and then forgiveness. (Tough pill to swallow?)
NoBullAl9 months agoNow there’s a MC who should be respected for remaining true to his personal beliefs but this has basically destroyed any chance for real happiness!! A truly tough decision! Counselling may have helped but it would have been hard work and for a very long time and then still might not have helped to move him to a better mind set!!
