"Please return to your lives," he announced. "Now that Lady...I mean, Miss Lorelei is here, you can be assured that your sons and daughters will be safe."

With that, the three leaders turned around and walked toward the stone building they came out of. I followed, taking another look around the small town. Stang caught up to me and was looking at me quizzically. They seemed apprehensive about my subterfuge, but I was pretty sure they wouldn't do anything to call me out.

We followed the trio into a small stone building that looked bigger from the outside. Once through the door, I could see only three rooms. To the right was a large area setup for what looked like council meetings with a raised dais and three desks facing a series of benches. On the left were two doors leading to a small conference room and a storage room, respectively. The group entered the conference room with us in tow.

With the five of you, especially with Stang taking up a good portion of the room, it was quite crowded.

"I apologize for the cramped accommodations, we don't usually have too many visitors like this," the Chief said, eyes darting unconsciously toward the huge cyclops.

"It's fine," I assured him. "So, what can you tell us about this bandit group?" I tried to get this moving so that Stang and I could leave this town as quickly as possible. I was pretty sure that a direct assault on a bandit camp was not within my capabilities, but maybe this wasn't as bad as the people here thought. Even if it was as bad, I hoped to be able to figure out some other way to resolve this that didn't involve violence.

The Chief looked to the other man, who spoke for the first time.

"Unfortunately, not much," he began. "One of our best warriors has seen their hideout and can lead you there." There was a long pause as I looked at him expecting something more. Finally, I spoke up.

"That's it? How many are there? What are their capabilities?" I questioned. The man looked back sheepishly.

"W...we don't know," he answered. "Only the one warrior has returned after having seen the group and she barely made it back without being spotted."

I closed my eyes for a moment to quiet the fear rising in my stomach. The three town leaders took this as your displeasure with their efforts and were noticeably embarrassed as I opened my eyes again.

"M..maybe the scout has some more information," the second man offered. "She will be your guide. You can find out everything she knows on your trek. The location is a day and a half south of here."

"When will you begin?" the woman finally spoke. I realized at that moment that I had no idea what time of day it was. Based on the sun, I guessed that it is sometime in the afternoon, but I had no idea about the length of a day or what seasons were like. I was also starting to feel a bit hungry.

"Well, I..." I started, but was interrupted by the chief.

"My goodness, Plia, they just got here after a long journey. We can't expect them to set out right now." He looked back apologetically at me. "Please, let us put you up for the night and give you a good meal, then you can save the town tomorrow!"

"Fine," the woman stated as she rose. "I will show you to your lodging and get you a meal. Please follow me."

She didn't seem all that happy about it, but neither was she angry. Stang and I rose along with her and followed her to a tavern just a couple buildings away. The bar area was sparsely filled, but what conversation there was upon our entry died out as all eyes turned to us.

"Chalay," The old woman called out to the barkeep. "Get these two a meal and..." She paused looking back at the two of us before deciding something and turning back. "And two rooms for Miss Lorelei and her companion."

She turned back to us.

"Just find an open table and Chalay will bring some food," she stated, very matter-of-factly.

The woman began walking back toward the door and was away before I could ask about our guide.

The tavern was still quiet except for one drunk female soldier at a corner table singing to herself. The conversation around us picked back up again as we sat down at a table. Food arrived shortly thereafter and we ate in silence for a couple minutes before Stang asked the same question I had just been pondering.

"Any idea how we are supposed to find our guide?" I looked across the room at the drunk soldier and had a bad feeling that I already knew who it was. The soldier was almost as large as Stang and was sporting an impressive sword strapped to her hip despite her inebriated state. No one else was sitting anywhere near her, but that didn't seem to stop her from trying to converse, loudly, with even those several tables away who tried desperately to ignore her. The cyclops followed my gaze and let out an audible sigh.

Then a voice piped up from just behind me.

"How about I just introduce myself," the voice said as a stunning woman walked past my left shoulder and sat down at our table.

She looked less like a soldier than a thief or, judging by the bow on her back, a ranger. Her hair was pure white and fell almost to her waist. The color contrasted completely with the thick black leather of her attire. It clung tightly to her very feminine form, but made no sound as she moved. The woman, in one graceful motion, took a chair from a nearby table and slid into it between me and Stang.

"Oh, wow, I didn't notice you there," I exclaimed.

"I'm Glaria," she stated without responding to my statement.

The woman's eyes bore straight into me as if she was searching for something. After a few moments of silence, a hint of a smile appeared on her face.

"So, you're the apprentice of the famous 'Sabine,' huh?" she asked.

I straightened slightly and tried to exude confidence.

"Yes. You seem surprised. Were you expecting someone else?" I responded. Glaria's head cocked to one side just a hair and her eyes squinted.

"Oh, I wasn't expecting anyone in particular." There was some mirth in her voice. "I've just never met an apprentice to one of The Five. Especially not one that looks so young and, if I am not being too forward, attractive."

I blushed in spite of my attempts at seeming aloof and couldn't help but look away momentarily. I wasn't sure why this woman's compliment caused such a reaction, but I needed to get a hold of myself. I looked back up trying to seem put out at her forwardness, but she was leaning forward biting her lower lip and watching me closely with her piercing gray eyes. The stinging retort I had intended to spew caught in my throat.

"You, uh, um," I attempted, then giggled. What the hell?! Why did I do that? I was acting like a nervous school girl. She smiled, then quickly changed into a more serious look.

"We need to talk about the camp and the plan for tomorrow," she mercifully changed the subject. "Ask the innkeep for a bath. It's the only place we can talk in private." I looked at Stang who shrugged. As I looked back at Glaria, she was already walking away and out the front door.

Within moments, the innkeep came to our table with two plates of food followed by a barmaid with a couple drinks of some brownish liquid with a foaming head. Beer, I assumed. Before the innkeep could leave, I asked about getting a bath.

"Of course, sweety," she responded. "I will have the tub filled with hot water. It will take a while, but it should be ready by the time you are done eating."

The meal was some sort of meat stew with a hunk of bread. It was surprisingly good although it might just be that I was more hungry than I realized. As the two of us ate, I asked Stang what their opinion was of our guide.

"Hmm," they grunted. "Seems like she has some ulterior motive." I hadn't caught that.

"Really," I replied. "What makes you think that?"

"Intuition. She was too nonchalant and, well, flirty." I blushed, again, thinking of our interaction.

"I hadn't noticed," I lied.

"There is something more to this," Stang ignored my denial. "Maybe you can get more from her when you talk - in private." The cyclops emphasized that last part and a little disgust crept into their voice.

The rest of the meal passed with little else of importance being discussed. When I finished, the innkeep returned to clear the table.

"Your rooms are the first and second room on the left at the top of the stairs," the innkeep offered. "The bath is almost ready and will be piping hot by the time you drop off your belongings in your room. It's the last door at the end of the hallway behind the kitchen."

I thanked her and proceeded to the rooms. Stang insisted on taking the room between mine and the stairs.

"I'm still your bodyguard. No one will get past me, ma'am." It felt a little weird to have a bodyguard, but also quite reassuring. "I would also suggest that I accompany you to this meeting with the ranger. We still don't know if she is trustworthy."

"Thank you, Stang." I looked back down the stairs toward my rendezvous with Glaria then back at the large person beside me. "But I think I will be fine to meet with her alone. I'll come knock on your door afterwards and let you know what we talk about."

The cyclops didn't seem convinced, but also didn't argue. The two of us parted and headed to our respective rooms. The room was small, with just a bed and a side table. I didn't really have anything to leave in the room, so I proceeded down the stairs and followed the corridor that passed the bar, then the kitchen and, finally, to a room with a big teardrop etched into it. I looked around and didn't see any other possible rooms for the bath before opening the door and stepping in.

The room was larger than the bedroom, but not by much. It was lit only by a couple candles placed around the room on shelves. A chair and small table sat against one wall. I expected to see Glaria already here, but there was no one else in the room. Steam rose from the bathtub calling me to climb in. Only at that moment did I realize how many of my muscles were aching.

I waited for a few minutes, eying the steaming bath. After Glaria had still not shown up, I took a step toward the bath and felt the fantastically warm water. Looking around one more time, I quickly removed my clothes, folding them and placing them on the table near the wall. I climbed, carefully, onto a stepping stool and then slowly lowered myself into the water. The feeling was incredible. My aching muscles seemed to melt away leaving only relaxation and relief.

I let my eyes close and almost immediately felt Glaria's presence. There was no sound or even air movement from the door opening. Had she been in the room and I just missed her?

I opened my eyes to see her standing over the tub, her eyes roaming up my body until they met my own. There was no shame on her face from getting caught gawking at my naked body.

"Who are you really and where is Sabine?" she asked, her hand pointedly moving to a dagger on her belt.

"I AM Sabine's apprentice, dammit!" I argued, trying to sound as indignant as possible.

I felt the knife press against my neck.

"Sabine would never send anyone as incompetent as you into the field," Glaria hissed in your ear. With her free hand, the ranger grabbed the back of your head and got a good grip on your hair. "Stand up!" she commanded. I squeaked at the sudden pain, but realized that it didn't really hurt that much. I also noticed an unexpected tingle between my legs.

"But I'm naked," I protested.

"Just a bonus," came the sharp reply as she started pulling me up by my hair. I quickly grabbed the sides of the tub and stood not wanting to anger her any more. As I got to a standing position, I tried to cover my breasts and pussy with your hands.

"Hands down, bitch!" Glaria ordered in a harsh but still low voice. I complied slowly, feeling that tingle again. There was a pause as the woman's eyes roamed over my wet, naked body.

"Cross your wrists behind your back," she commanded. I found myself moving my arms without even thinking about what I was doing. Something about this woman's commanding tone just made me want to follow her orders. Or maybe it was the tingle I got every time I did what she said. Then a worrying thought broke through.

"Are you arresting me?" I asked.

"Maybe," Glaria started. "That depends on whether you tell me the truth." The knife moved away from my throat and, after only a moment, some sort of strap wrapped around my crossed wrists locking them together. "Out of the water."

I awkwardly made my way out of the tub with Glaria's fist still gripping my hair tightly and making sure I didn't fall.

"Feet together," she ordered. I pressed my ankles together and am not surprised when another strap locks my feet in place. I bit my bottom lip as another jolt shot from my groin. Why was this getting me so worked up? Glaria let go of my hair and stepped in front of me, again scanning my body up and down.

"Damn girl, you are something else." The desire in the ranger's voice was clear. "I'm getting another plan in mind." She walked around me slowly, her fingers gliding lightly over my skin. I could feel my whole body blushing. "I don't think I care what your story is anymore. I'm going to give you to Bagund in exchange for my girlfriend."

"What?" I blurted. Real fear now was rising above the eroticism I was feeling.

"I wanted to save everyone, but I really just want my girlfriend back," she explained. "If I can't trust you to help me willingly, then you will help me by being my present to him so he will let my girlfriend go. Looking at you, I know he will go for this deal."

I squirmed against the restraints. Not enough to actually get free, just enough to feel my bondage. Fuck if it didn't turn me on!

"P..please, don't trade me," I begged. "I'll...I'll do wh..whatever you want, just don't hurt me or give me to some asshole." I looked into her eyes and bit my bottom lip trying to look innocent.

The act didn't go unnoticed. A predatory smile appeared on Glaria's lips as she regarded me one more time. She stepped closer and started running her hands over my captured body. Despite myself, her attention was getting me more excited.

"Whatever I want, huh?" she teased. "Are you sure you know what you are suggesting?"

"Umm..." I wasn't sure how to answer that.

"That wasn't a serious question. I don't really care," Glaria said, stopping her exploration of your body to look down directly into your eyes. "You are pretty. Prettier than my Mia even, but there is a big difference."

Her voice had lost all playfulness. The woman grabbed my nipples, one in each hand between finger and thumb, and squeezed. The sensation shot straight to the pleasure center of my brain forcing my eyes to close and an involuntary moan to escape.

"I love her," she started, squeezing my nipples harder. I recognized that it was painful, but, surprisingly, that just enhanced the pleasure. My head leaned back as I moaned even louder. "You, on the other hand, would just be a fuck toy." The words crashed into my psyche and my knees went weak. It was everything I could do not to collapse onto the floor.

"Here's what's going to happen," the white haired woman stated. I tried to collect myself and focus on her words, but her fingers kept pinching and, now, twisting my nipples. "You are going to help me get rid of Bagund, the self-proclaimed head of the camp. Depending on how that goes, I'll decide what to do with you after that."

She twisted and lifted, making me cry out, but I couldn't hide the enjoyment in that cry. I, necessarily, went up on tip-toes to lessen the stretching of my boobs.

"Understand?" Glaria hissed.

I couldn't form words, but I managed to nod. With that, she suddenly let go of me. This time I did fall, first to my knees then to the floor on my side, my breathing heavy. I opened my eyes to see Glaria's boots sideways in front of my face.

"Damn girl, I thought you were about to cum there," she laughed.

She bent over and pulled the straps off of my wrists and ankles. I pushed myself back to a kneeling position as Glaria walked to the table and threw my clothes at me.

"Get up and get dressed," she ordered. "We need to talk about what's really going on."

I started to rise.

"When I told the town leaders about the camp, sorry, the bandit camp," she emphasized the word 'bandit' like it was not really apparent. "I might have...made it out to be something other than it is."

I got to my feet.

"It's really less of a bandit camp than a teen hangout spot," she finally blurted out.

"What?" I asked, still trying to recover from the mental haze I had been in only moments before.

"This place, this town is stifling. The young people have had this camp where they retreat to occasionally and, you know, have fun," Glaria responded. "We are not allowed anything fun and definitely nothing sexual, so we had to come up with a way of...alleviating that. Youth from several villages nearby all gather there for...all kinds of recreation."

"So why call in someone like Sabine for a teen hangout?" I asked, pulling on my dress.

"Something changed recently," the white haired woman continued. "This guy, Bagund, showed up from some neighboring village and, well, kind of took over. People started staying for longer and longer until some weren't going back. He is going to ruin everything. Villagers are now thinking that there is some group kidnapping or killing their kids. They're going to send an army."

"What's wrong with that? Wouldn't that stop him?" I pointed out.

"Yes, but people are already starting to forbid their young people from leaving the towns. They're going to go crazy. Besides, if the army comes in, they're going to kill anyone at the camp, not just this idiot leader. He's got some weird hold over them."

"And you thought getting Sabine here would be better?" I pressed.

"Yes, I was going to sick her on Bagund. With him out of the way, things could go back to the way they were. Hopefully."

Finally dressed, I started heading for the door when Glaria stopped me.

"I'll meet you in the tavern tomorrow morning for breakfast and we'll head out for the camp. It will only take about half a day to get there. We can talk more about the plan as we walk," she concluded.

"Alright," I acknowledged.

I exited first and was back to the dining area before the ranger left. Glaria was so forceful...and confident...and hot. I thought about going back in there and asking if she just wanted to stay in my room tonight, but was a little afraid of her accepting. Was this who I was before coming to this - world? Or was the System doing something to make me act like my assigned class? Would I ever even be able to tell the difference?

There must have been a back door to that place, because I didn't see her exit. I proceeded to my room and, somehow, managed to resist rubbing one out despite my heightened arousal.

Enjoyed this start of an RPG with a female main character. There's a dearth of that in lit, isn't there? Can't wait to read more.

I’ve been reading stories on Lit for more years than I can remember and this is by far the best start of a D&D type series that I’ve come across. Please keep writing. I’ll tell everyone that I know who is interested in this type of writing to look for you.

I applaud your masterful story telling!!!

Watch out for your point of view changes. It gets confusing when you change from she to I to you. Stories need to be consistent, otherwise good start.
